The fabulous home economics students in Colaiste na Toirbhirte, Bandon organised an amazing food forum and market where a wide variety of local culinary experts, producers and food enthusiasts came together to share ideas, products and demonstrate cooking and baking techniques for all the students to enjoy and experience.
Poachers was delighted to be invited to take part in this event. Barry held a cooking demonstration where he showed how to make homemade healthy Thai inspired Spring Rolls. Barry also took the time to share some of his experiences as a chef, what being a professional chef at Poachers is like, as well as some insider secrets to help the students in their culinary journeys. All the students involved were attentive, friendly and welcoming and it was clear that they all had a real passion and talent for cooking. There are definitely some up and coming chefs in the group. Who knows, we might see some of them creating food masterpieces in Poachers one day.
The experience was wonderful and all the team at Poachers would like to thank the students of Colaiste na Toirbhirte for their hospitality and allowing us to be part of such a special event. The food forum and market was an astounding success and you should all be very proud of yourselves.
